Sleeping Beauty and dodging crocodiles
It’s now well into November, our route north is planned and Beatrix all packed up. We’ve all got that nervous excitement of a trip about to start.

Changing seasons
As summer finally turns to Autumn, we have to leave the sun behind and turn our wheels north to beat the Brexit 90-day deadline. Always time for another beach and vineyard or two though.

Saint Emilion and the coast
We’ve been lucky enough to see some great sunsets through the big front window of Beatrix but watching the sun go down over the vines of Saint Emilion rivals the incredible views we’ve been treated to in the Alps and the north coast of Scotland for me. This place is absolutely breathtaking.

A weekend with friends in La Rochelle
We’ve loving our time on the beach near Bordeaux but we have friends to meet in La Rochelle so time to get on the road again

Southbound again
With the weather forecast predicting higher winds in Normandy but sunshine in La Rochelle, we decided it was time to head south again.

I can’t remember when I became so fascinated to see the D-Day landing beaches in Normandy, but I know it was a long time ago.

On the road again
We’re back in France again…. and its instantly relaxing compared to the hustle of the southeast of the UK. The roads are smoother, there’s way less traffic and the morning baked goods are excellent.
